
Available Roles (some roles may be combined, this production will practice gender fluid casting)

Romeo – The son of Montague and Lady Montague. Passionate, impulsive, and deeply romantic, he falls in love with Juliet at first sight.

Juliet – The daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet. Young, intelligent, and passionate, she defies her family to be with Romeo.

Montague – Romeo’s father, the patriarch of the Montague family, engaged in the feud with the Capulets. (gender fluid casting)

Benvolio – Romeo’s cousin and close friend. A peacekeeper who tries to prevent fights between the families. (gender fluid casting)

Mercutio – Romeo’s witty and charismatic friend. Though not a Montague by blood, he is fiercely loyal. He is killed by Tybalt.

Balthasar – Romeo’s servant, who brings him news of Juliet’s "death."

Capulet – Juliet’s father, who at first appears kind but later demands she marry Paris. (gender fluid casting)

Tybalt – Juliet’s fiery cousin, quick to anger and deeply loyal to the Capulet name. He kills Mercutio and is later slain by Romeo. (gender fluid casting)

The Nurse – Juliet’s close confidante and caretaker, who provides comic relief but ultimately advises Juliet to marry Paris.

Peter – A Capulet servant, often providing comedic moments.

Friar Laurence – A Franciscan friar who secretly marries Romeo and Juliet, hoping to end the family feud. His plans ultimately lead to tragedy.

Paris – A nobleman who seeks Juliet’s hand in marriage and is favored by her parents. He is killed by Romeo at Juliet’s tomb.

Prince Escalus – The ruler of Verona, who tries to maintain peace and ultimately punishes both families for their feud.

Friar John – A fellow friar tasked with delivering an important message to Romeo, but he is unable to do so, leading to the tragic conclusion. (gender fluid casting)

The Apothecary – A poor shopkeeper who sells Romeo the poison.

To be considered for this season's production, please submit a video of a Shakespearean monologue of your choice, no longer than 2 minutes.

Pay:
Shakespeare in the Wild pays a stipend of $600 plus UP TO another $600 based on donations of the audience after each show.
